John Lindberg
Educator, Rowing Coach
John began his professional career as an academic teacher, multi-sport coach and educational administrator for 18 years. In addition, John accumulated extensive experience in project management. His passion for the coaching role inspired him to pursue full-time coaching at the Division 1 level for fifteen years working with Boston based University teams. For the past 5 years John has served as the Director of Rowing for the Union Boat Club in Boston.
John began rowing at St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH as a means to stay in shape for hockey, a team he led as a captain his senior year. In the boat, he was only asked to pull harder. John continued on at Brown University where he competed on both the varsity hockey and rowing squads. John has won medals at Eastern Sprints and IRA's as both a competitor and coach. He has also competed internationally for the US as both competitor and coach. Additionally, John is a Henley Royal Regatta and Head of the Charles champion.
A teacher at his core, John’s collective reflection on these experiences has found resonance and definition in the Wayfinding process of teaching and learning.
